On May 30th our little girl turned one year old. We had a beautiful party at Grammy and Grandpa Lukkes' house. The theme was Abby Cadabby and Lauren humored us all for a short while and wore an Abby Cadabby costume complete with pink and blue pigtails.
Grammy and Grandpa Lukkes really went all out for Lauren's first birthday - lots of decorations, lots of good food, and then there was the swing that was the favorite of many kids. Especially Lauren.
In keeping with Stacie's family tradition she baked Lauren her own personal 1st birthday cake that she had all to herself. When we put that sugary, pink cake in front of Lauren she knew exactly what to do.
Lauren had many friends come to wish her a happy birthday.
Lauren received many wonderful gifts, but her new Trike is a favorite of ours because she could spend hours in there just riding around and enjoying the view.
It was such a nice day that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to take the first swim of the summer in Grandpa's pool. Lauren loves the water and likes to float along in her inner tube.
We can't believe a year has already passed, but we have so many things to be thankful for. A happy, healthy and loving baby girl are a few of the many blessings we've had this past year.
