DIVA!

We made it through our first full "normal" week. Lauren is settling into the routine and she is as expected a favorite already at daycare. She has already completed an art project and will get to meet Boeing security's K-9 unit this week (Howie and Amos are jealous). Her teacher, Miss Rhonda, has given her the nickname "Diva" because all the boys in the classroom start kicking and cooing when Lauren walks in the room. As Rhonda puts it, "they know true beauty when they see it." So as you'll see in these pictures the hat that Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer got her truely fits her new nickname.

Prayer Request

Mommy heads back to work at a new job and Lauren has her first day of daycare on Friday. Please pray that both Mommy and Lauren will be OK being apart during the day and that Lauren will feel safe, loved, and have fun at school. Both Seth and I are trying out new schedules to maximize the amount of time we can be with Lauren at home, please pray we are able to adjust to a new routine and that it won't be too stressful.

Go Huskies!

Today the three of us tried to take in Lauren's first Husky football game. Grandma Schaefer was nice enough to get us a little umbrella stroller that was easy to push Lauren around in and easy to store. Lauren was wearing her #2 jersey that Grandpa Schaefer got her. She received lots of compliments on our way into Husky stadium. Despite the pink argyle leg warmers some people mistook her for a boy, but that's alright we know she's our little girly-girl.

When we first got to our seats the stadium was very noisy and Lauren was not happy, so Mom took her out to the ramp and fed her a bottle. At the second quarter Grandma was happy to take a turn consoling her and she endured the sound of stomping feet in the stands. Although I'd like to think she was unhappy with the Husky defense that allowed BYU to just march down the field.

In the 3rd quarter we were able to console Lauren and she decided to sit with us in the stands until 3 minutes left in the game.

Overall it was a successful first game even though the Huskies were robbed in the end.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

We spent Labor Day at the annual birthday party at Grandma and Grandpa Straight's. Despite four birthdays Lauren was still the highlight of the afternoon and was seen cuddling in someone's arms often.

The Ocean Part 2

We had another wonderful long weekend at the Ocean.

Saturday and Sunday we had some of the best weather we've ever had and we were fortunate to have a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer. We took a long walk on the beach with the dogs in tow.

Grandpa gave Lauren her night time bottle and she was fortunate to go to sleep before watching the Huskies lose horribly to Oregon. Hopefully her first Husky game next Saturday will have a better outcome.

The next day we saw Grandma and Grandpa off and then took one last walk on the beach. The boys found a dead bird to roll around in and got very dirty. Needless to say it was a fun drive home.
